Coronavirus / (COVID-19) Update

Until otherwise instructed by PHE and the government that we have to close, Cryptic Escape will be operating “Business as Usual” under all normal terms and conditions, but have relaxed the rescheduling terms until further notice. Please see end of this message.

At Cryptic Escape, we understand the concerns of our customers and are taking precautions to protect them and all of our staff. We are dedicated to ensuring your health and safety as a priority. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities, we are committed to providing a clean environment as you enjoy your escape room experience.

These measures include:

Following all guidance from the Public Health England on best practices for staying healthy.

Segregating teams during introductions and gameplay so you are only together with your own team members.

Using disinfecting wipes and spray to clean all surfaces including door handles, props, locks, furniture, and electronics (when safe to do so) after every game.

Providing hand sanitizer for staff and customers use. This can be affected by current shortages in hand sanitizer. Currently we have some on site and more on back order.

Recommending customers and staff wash their hands before game. Also we ask that in order to reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately.

Asking customers and staff members who are not feeling well to stay home.

As per our Ts and Cs, we do not issue refunds as we operate as a live event. There would usually also be a charge to reschedule the booking. Under the current circumstances, we still do not issue refunds, but anyone wishing to reschedule and giving at least 7 days notice, may do so for a small admin fee of £10. We are happy to issue a rescheduling code to rebook any room online (same player amount) for just the £10 admin charge within the next 12 months.
Anyone wishing to reschedule less than 7 days notice, will be subject to a rescheduling charge, as staffing would have been allocated to cover the booking and require their payment. This is normally £12.50 per person but as a gesture of goodwill this would be capped at a total of £25 just to cover our staffing costs etc to attend the rescheduled event. This again will be via an issued rescheduling code to book any room online (same player amount) with a 12 month expiry, paying just the £25 rescheduling charge.

Also, our current terms also state no refunds under Force Majeure of which Covid19 applies. However, if we are instructed by the government that we have to shut and cannot fulfil your booking, then we will of course happily provide free rescheduling for those affected in that closure time period.
